Death: Roger Dale Cooley Obituary – Roger Dale Cooley, who was 72 years old at the time of his passing, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the North Mississippi Medical Center following a protracted illness. On January 29, 1952, Roger was born in Tupelo, which is located in Lee County. He is the son of Charles C. Cooley, who passed away, and Wilma Ruth Donald, who is still alive. Roger was a resident of the Nettleton-Dorsey area for the majority of his life. In 1970, he received his diploma from Nettleton High School and immediately began a job that would last for the rest of his life.

He worked as a sewing machine technician for Reed’s Manufacturing and Action/Lane Furniture, both of which were in need of his one-of-a-kind abilities. In addition to being a wonderful steward of the land, Roger took great pleasure in bushhogging on his farm, which was located to the northeast of Nettleton. He also grew cattle on the farm. It is planned that a memorial service honoring his life will take place on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at one o’clock in the afternoon in the Sadie M. Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors in Tupelo.

The event will be presided over by Minister Adam Miller of Mayfield Church of Christ. Lee Memorial Park will then be the location of the private burial. The Holland – Tupelo Chapel, which is honored to serve their friends and neighbors, will be the location of visitation which will take place on Tuesday from 5 PM to 7 PM and on Wednesday from Noon until the time of the ceremony. Roger is survived by his wife, Teresa Landphere Cooley, whom he married on April 13, 1973, almost fifty years ago; his son, Kevin Cooley and his wife Angela, who reside in Pontotoc; his mother, Wilma Donald Cooley, who resides in Oliver Springs, Tennessee; his grandchildren, Braeden Cooley, Jake Cooley, and Kade Cooley, whom “Pop” believed did no wrong; his sister, Debra Cooley Gunn, who resides in Oliver Springs, Tennessee; his brother-in-law, Roger Landphere, who resides in Murphreesboro, Tennessee; his nieces, nephews, cousins, and a large group of friends all survive him.

Charles Cooley, Roger’s father, his sister Lynn Cooley, his sister-in-law Peggy Landphere, and his in-laws Jewel and Jake Landphere all passed away before Roger. Roger was the last surviving member of his family. His grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers at the funeral.
