She left an impression on each and every person who knew her. She passed away with her loved ones and friends by her side. She will be sorely missed by everyone. Throughout her entire life, she was the most wonderful of all of us, and she brought our family an incredible amount of happiness. Erika was the brightest star in our sky. Her existence was illuminating, and she left a huge impression on each and every one of us, leaving an indelible mark on our spirits for all time. We are all better people as a result of Erika’s presence in our lives, even if it was only for a short time.

When she passed away, her family suffered a loss that cannot be measured…mother Kirsten Degutis, father Brandon Joseph (who passed away), grandparents Vic and Liz Degutis, grandparents Mike and Brenda Joseph, great grandfather Paul Moreau, grandmother Marian Roth and great-grandfather Goswin Roth, uncle and aunt/godparents Alex and Maria Degutis, uncle and aunt Christie and Jamie Todd, uncle Gary McConkey, and aunt Ashley Copeland, and great-grandfather Paul Moreau. a loving group of cousins, including great-uncle and great-aunt Ted and Jamie Degutis, great-aunt Mary Jane Moreau, great-aunt and uncle Kerry and Albert Hale, great-aunt and uncle Jim and Pat Rhame, and great-aunt Kathleen and Albert Hale.

Erika Joseph was rushed to London Children’s Hospital after a terrible car accident that occurred in Owen Sound on November 30. The event was so horrific that it resulted in the death of her father, Brandon Joseph. Erika passed away quietly as a result of her injuries, despite the fact that the amazing, skilled, and caring staff in the Paediatric Critical Care Unit made every effort to save her life. In the short time that Erika was with us, she was able to give a great deal to each and every one of us, and her last gift was to assist others through the Trillium Gift of Life Network.
